Maintaining Your Teeth
We
urge you to see us regularly (2-3 times/year). Our hygienists provide
a more thorough cleaning with their special tools, training, and
experience.
They
also provide instructions and updates on the latest dental products
to enable you to feel clean and fresh consistently. Our Patients have
said that they have found their visits to our hygienists boost their
motivation to maintain a clean mouth. This can help you keep your teeth
your entire lifetime and avoid the discomfort and inconvenience of
extensive dental restorations.
Brushing
and flossing your teeth regularly continue to be your first line of
defense against tooth decay and gum disease. Our patients usually come
to brush and floss not because they are supposed to – but because they
want to. They become naturally aware of the discomfort of dirty tooth
surfaces and particles stuck between their teeth. So they brush and floss
in order to enjoy a good, clean fresh feeling in their mouths.
During your regular 4-6 month visits, Drs. Goodall and Van de Vyver monitor your dental health. They inform you of specific symptoms of tooth decay, gingivitis, periodontal disease, and symptoms of general health problems visible in your mouth.
